Soil: Kumquats do well in potting soil with any pH, but if you choose to grow them directly in the ground, add a high-quality potting soil to enrich the soil.
Watering: Need water consistently but not obsessively.
Fertilizer: Kumquats need regular fertilizing, with a slow-release, all-purpose, or citrus fertilizer
Temperature: Citrus Kumquat plants need a minimum temperature of 10-13°C (50-55°F); temperatures below 7°C (45°F) can severely damage or even kill the plants.
Pruning: Kumquat trees don’t require pruning except to remove suckers that drain the tree’s resources.
